TeenX Engineering Challenge

TeenX invites eligible young students to identify a real problem and pitch an engineering solution to academic and industry judges through a national competition connected to Prince Sultan University’s engineering ecosystem.

Open to students aged 13–19, including intermediate, secondary, international and technical schools, and Prince Sultan University PYP students who meet the age eligibility.

Format

Teams, Themes and Judging

Teams form through their school's engineering club and work together on a concept addressing a real-world engineering challenge, drawn from any RoboNest Engineering Pathway from robotics and AI to renewable energy, smart cities and industrial systems.

Concepts are reviewed ahead of RoboNest Pitch Day, where teams present to a panel of academic and industry judges. Judging considers the clarity of the problem, the soundness of the proposed engineering approach, and the team's ability to explain and defend their thinking.

How it works

Eight Stages, From School to Showcase

  1. 1

    School Membership

    A school joins the RoboNest Engineering Schools Network and names a Coordinator.

  2. 2

    Engineering Club Development

    The school builds or strengthens a student engineering club with RoboNest support.

  3. 3

    School-Level Selection

    Clubs run an internal process to identify the teams that will represent the school.

  4. 4

    Concept Submission

    Teams submit their engineering concept for review ahead of Pitch Day.

  5. 5

    RoboNest Pitch Day

    Teams pitch their concepts to academic and industry judges.

  6. 6

    Fellow Selection

    Standout teams are invited to become RoboNest Fellows.

  7. 7

    Incubation

    Selected teams progress into the RoboNest Startup Incubator for structured mentoring, prototype development and venture support.

  8. 8

    Engineering Showcase

    Fellows present finished prototypes to a professional and academic audience.
